Authorities are investigating a violent stabbing that left one person seriously injured Wednesday evening in East Orange.
The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 100 block of Renshaw Avenue.
According to preliminary information, police and EMS were dispatched to the area after receiving reports of an injured individual.
Upon arrival, responders located an unidentified victim suffering from severe stab wounds.
The victim was transported to University Hospital for treatment. As of 4:30 a.m., the individual was reported to be in serious condition.
Officials have not released additional details, including the circumstances leading up to the stabbing. The motive remains under active and ongoing investigation.
