Newark

Good morning, New Jersey! We’re waking up to weather that feels more like spring or summer than the middle of October, but don’t get too comfortable because cooler temperatures are on the way.

As we start this Wednesday morning, it’s a mild 69 degrees in downtown Newark, making for a comfortable trip to the bus stop or commute to work.

Temperatures across Newark and much of North Jersey are expected to climb into the lower 80s today, giving us another taste of summer before fall makes its return.

If you have an opportunity to get outside during your lunch break, today would be a great day to do it. By this weekend, temperatures will struggle to reach the 60s across parts of the region.

According to the National Weather Service, today will be mostly sunny with a high near 81 degrees.

There is a slight chance of showers between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., with a 20 percent chance of precipitation. West winds will range from 6 to 9 mph.

Tonight, skies will become mostly clear after some early clouds, with temperatures dropping to around 56 degrees. North winds will blow between 7 and 9 mph.

Enjoy the warmth while it lasts, Jersey. Fall weather will be making a comeback!

Have a great Wednesday, New Jersey!
