Police in Springfield are investigating a reported armed robbery that happened in the township overnight.
The incident was reported near the BP Gas Station that's located in the single digit block of Meisel Avenue where cops were called to the scene for an armed robbery in progress shortly before midnight.
Arriving police units located the victim who reported to them that a black male suspect, around the age of 20-years-old, approached armed with a gun and demanded several items.
After the suspects took the victim's possessions, he reportedly fled southbound on Meisel Avenue according to the victim.
A K-9 search dog from the Scotch Plains assisted in the search.
The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.
