SPREADING JOY: Belleville Barbershop Donates "Holiday Haircuts" to Children at Ironbound Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club

Newark

Barbers at the Emmanuel’s Barber Shop -located at 308 Washington Avenue in Belleville- took their clippers and barber equipment on the road to spread joy to dozens of children in Newark's Ironbound section on Monday.

The barbers' first stop was the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club on Providence street, where they met dozens of cheering and excited children who were ready to get groomed for the holidays.

Overwhelmed by the kind gesture, Program Director Ms. Zee Oliviera expressed love and thanks to Emmanuel Barbers in Belleville.

"I still can’t believe that the staff of Emmanuel's stopped their business day early -in one of the busiest weeks of the year- to come to our club and donate over 30 haircuts," Oliviera said.

Barbers at Emmanuel's said they wanted to raise the spirits of the kids in preparation for the holiday season. "There’s nothing like a fresh haircut to make you walk taller and feel like a million bucks. At Emmanuel's Barbershop and Hair Salon, we strive to provide consistently exceptional haircuts time and time again," according to a statement released by the company.

"All the children left with smiles and felt special while all the parents were very appreciative," Program Director Zee Oliviera said.

Emmanuel's Barbershop is located at 308 Washington Avenue in Belleville.

"We treat our craft seriously and have various ways to show off our talent. We provide a wide range of services, including men’s haircuts, women’s haircuts, senior citizen discounts, hair designs, re-coloring, eyebrow threading, and a 20-minute teeth whitening service" company officials said in a statement.

Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club Zee Oliviera urges everyone to continue to support businesses that support the communities.

"Support Emmanuel's Barbershop because they support our communities," Oliviera said.
