Spotswood Man Arrested for Drug Possession in Newark

A Spotswood man who was wanted for East Brunswick and Spotswood Police was arrested in Newark after possessing drugs in the city police said.

According to authorities, Russell Nordstrom, 31, of Spotswood was picked up in Newark's Central Ward for CDS possession on Sunday.

Police said at approximately 1:55 a.m., members of the Newark Police Special Enforcement Bureau (S.E.B.), who were patrolling the area of Jones Street and Springfield Avenue, observed Russell Nordstrom who was wanted by police in East Brunswick and Spotswood.

Nordstrom was arrested without incident police said.

Nordstrom was found in possession of nine glassine envelopes of suspected CDS (heroin). He is charged with Possession of CDS (heroin), Contempt and violation of a city ordinance for Drinking in Public according to police.

These charges are merely accusations.

The suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
