East Orange

An East Orange man charged with the murder of his mother after her body was found in the trunk of her car pleads not guilty, according to Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray.

On September 10, East Orange detectives were investigating a report that Patricia A. Blocker, 62, of East Orange was missing.

At approximately 2:00 p.m. on September 14th, detectives from the East Orange Police Department located Blocker’s car in the area of 23 Hartford Street in Newark.

A subsequent investigation by detectives from the Homicide Task Force, which includes detectives from the East Orange Police Department, led to the discovery of the remains in the trunk of the car leading to the arrest of Blocker's son, William C. Logan, 37, charging him with murder.

Logan is being held on $2 million bail, officials said.

Blocker's cause of death has not yet been determined, authorities said.
