Somerset County Unveils New Operation Helping Hand Vehicle

Somerset County

Somerset County officials along with numerous Municipal, County and State Representatives unveiled the new Somerset County Operation Helping Hand vehicle.

Prosecutor Robertson stated that on Tuesday, July 27, members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office and Somerset County Law Enforcement unveiled the new Operation Helping Hand vehicle which will be utilized to conduct door-to-door outreach of known Somerset County residents with substance use disorders.

The vehicle will be present for the public to approach at various community events throughout Somerset County and was purchased and equipped through the use of federal and state funding, along with a private donation from the Anthony Calderaro Memorial Fund.

The goal during each encounter is to have the Recovery Support Specialists engage residents in need providing on-the-spot referrals to treatment and other resources.

Prosecutor Robertson stated the success of Somerset County’s OHH initiative would not be possible if not for the hard work and dedication of its community partners, especially, the working professionals of Somerset County Department of Human Services, (R4R) Program – Richard Hall Community Mental Health Center, Somerset Treatment Services, and Pioneer Family Success Center – EmPower Somerset.
