SOGGY SUNDAY: Colder Temperatures, Steady Rain Forecast for Newark and North Jersey

Newark and the North Jersey region residents can expect a chilly and wet Sunday following a brisk Saturday.VaccineMorning temperatures are starting in the low 50s, accompanied by scattered showers that will intensify into steady rain throughout the day.

According to the National Weather Service, showers are likely to begin after 11 a.m. with a high near 56 degrees.

A southeast wind around 10 mph, gusting up to 20 mph, will add a bit of a bite to the air. The chance of precipitation is high at 90%, with new rainfall amounts expected to be between a tenth and a quarter of an inch.

Tonight, NWS forecasters said showers would continue mainly before 2 a.m., followed by patchy fog developing after 2 a.m.

Interestingly, temperatures will rise slightly to around 57 degrees by 1 a.m.

For those planning to step outside, it is advisable to carry a jacket or coat and definitely an umbrella to stay dry and warm throughout this drearily cold day.
