Newark

By: Richard L. Smith

Newark and much of North Jersey are waking up to a slightly warmer start this Wednesday morning, but residents will still want to grab a light jacket or coat before heading out the door.

As of 4:30 a.m., it was 49 degrees along Market Street and Raymond Boulevard in downtown Newark.

Skies were mostly cloudy but calm, with a steady breeze ranging from 6 to 21 mph, making it feel a touch cooler.

According to the National Weather Service, today will be partly sunny with a high near 58 degrees and light north winds between 3 and 6 mph.

Conditions will remain dry throughout the day, providing a comfortable midweek forecast.

Tonight will be mostly clear, with temperatures dipping to around 40 degrees, another cool evening to close out what’s expected to be a pleasant fall day across the region.
