Police in Paterson are investigating an aggravated assault incident that on a street in the city Saturday morning.
According to police, officers responded to the vicinity of 148 Putnam Street to investigate reports of a person injured around 3:40 a.m.
Upon arrival, police found the victim suffering a slash wound on their face at that location.
Police say the victim was treated by medical personnel while officers attempted to find the motive for the attack.
There were no immediate reports of arrests.
