Six individuals were arrested by Newark police during protests outside Delaney Hall that continued from Saturday, June 6, into Sunday, June 7, according to Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda Sr.

Director Miranda said the arrests occurred after officers observed demonstrators allegedly damaging property and blocking the entrance to the federal detention facility.
“These arrests were made after the suspects were observed committing property damage and blocking the entrance of Delaney Hall,” Miranda said in a statement. “At that point, an unlawful assembly was ordered, as blocking the entrance is a public safety hazard that puts everyone, including the detainees, in danger. These individuals refused to comply.”
Authorities identified those arrested as:
- Allison Wuu, 19, of Fort Collins, Colorado, who was also arrested during a previous protest on June 1.
- Lucas Jimenez, 18, of Hoboken, New Jersey, who was also arrested on June 1.
- Drew Larsen, 28, of Brooklyn, New York.
- Solomon Dunston, 30, of Bordentown, New Jersey.
- Rayaan Baywa, 22, of Riverside, Connecticut.
- Julianna Wurst, 19, of Old Bridge, New Jersey.
Officials did not immediately release the specific charges filed against the six individuals.
The arrests come amid ongoing demonstrations outside Delaney Hall, where protesters have gathered in recent weeks to voice concerns over immigration detention operations at the facility.
The investigation remains active. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact Newark authorities.
