Authorities in Newark are investigating a crash that left one person injured early this morning in the city.
Police and EMS rushed to the scene of the crash that happened near Bridge Street and the Adams Steakhouse at around 2:15 a.m. where they arrived to find a vehicle severely damaged with at least one person trapped after crashing into a pole at that location.
Intense work by rescue crews had the victim extricated and handed over to EMS a short time later.
The victim was transported to University Hospital in critical condition.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
