Sicklerville Man Arrested Second Time This Year for Distribution of Explicit Images of Minors

Sicklerville

Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Winslow Police Chief George Smith reported a Sicklerville man has been arrested and charged Wednesday, July 19, 2017 with distribution of child pornography.

Nicholas Cooey, a 20-year-old Sicklerville resident, was on Pretrial Release under the State’s recent Criminal Justice Reform law after having been charged earlier this year with second degree Distribution of Explicit Images of Minors and first degree Manufacture of Explicit Images of Minors, when Detectives from the High Tech Crimes Unit (HTCU) of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office received information he was again distributing Explicit Images of Minors.

As a result, this information lead a search warrant that was executed at his residence on Fletcher Boulevard in Sicklerville.

A preliminary review of electronic devices seized revealed evidence of the presence of distribution of Explicit Images of Minors.  Cooey has now been charged with an additional four (4) counts of second degree Distribution of Explicit Images of Minors and one (1) count of third degree Possession of Child Pornography.

Anyone with information that may be relevant to the investigation is asked to contact Detective Sarah Hyde of the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit at (856) 225-8400.

All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
