Residents across Newark and the North Jersey region are starting their Wednesday on a drier note after overnight rain swept through the area.
While some light showers lingered into the early morning, conditions are already beginning to improve, and sunshine is on the way.
As of this morning, it’s a comfortable 74 degrees in downtown Newark.
While the umbrella might still come in handy for early commuters, the National Weather Service says the rain will taper off by late morning, giving way to a pleasant and mostly sunny afternoon.
According to the latest forecast, there’s a 30 percent chance of showers before 11 a.m. After that, skies will begin to clear, with a high near 86 degrees and a light southwest breeze at 3 to 6 mph.
Wednesday night will bring mostly clear skies with a low around 71, offering a comfortable and calm end to the day.
After a wet start, the second half of the week looks promising for outdoor plans. Enjoy the sunshine, Jersey!
