Paterson Police reported no injuries in a shits-fired incident in one of the neighborhoods Sunday morning.
It happened around 2:05 a.m. near the intersection of East 16th and Governor streets.
Police say a ShotSpotter device activated and alerted officers of a shooting.
Several units arrived and found evidence that a shooting had occurred, but after a search of the community, no victims were located.
The suspect fled the scene and is at large.
Police have not reported a potential motive for the shooting.
