Police in Newark are investigating a shots-fired incident that occurred in a South Ward community on Friday night.
According to police, a ShotSpotter activated in the area of 116 Maple Avenue at approximately 8:45 p.m.
Officers arrived and found evidence that a shooting occurred, but after searching the area, they did not locate any victims.
There were several shell casings recovered at the scene as detectives canvassed the area for evidence.
The suspect responsible for the shooting remains at-large.
