Newark Police officers canvassed a Newark Central Ward neighborhood for a crime scene after receiving reports of shots fired early Monday morning.
Police on routine patrol in the area of Court and Prince streets contacted headquarters after they heard what appeared to be multiple gunshot blasts rang out in the area at approximately 2:45 a.m.
Additional officers assisted in the search of the area when there was a confirmed ShotSpotter activation in the same location.
There were no immediate reports of injuries according to reports.
