Shots Fired in Newark's West Ward Under Investigation

In the early hours of Thursday, October 5, Newark Police responded to reports of shots fired in the 200 block of Littleton Avenue, located in the West Ward.

According to Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé, the incident occurred at approximately 2:51 a.m.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found no victims and received no reports of injuries.

However, their investigation revealed a spent shell casing, confirming the discharge of a firearm in the area.

The suspect, believed to be responsible for the gunfire, managed to evade capture and fled the scene.

Law enforcement authorities are actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the individual.

As of now, the incident remains under investigation, with law enforcement officials working diligently to gather more information regarding the circumstances surrounding the shots fired.
