Police in Newark has a shots fired investigation underway in a section of the city.
The early morning shooting was reported in the vicinity of 469 Elizabeth Avenue at approximately 2:10 a.m. after police received reports of shots fired at that location.
Units arrived at the scene found evidence that a shooting occurred but a search of the area had no victims found according to reports.
A bullet reportedly burst through the window of a residence and penetrated the ceiling of the bathroom according to reports.
Police are also trying to determine if a shots fired incident that occurred in the vicinity of 691 Elizabeth Avenue is related to the prior event.
At the location, police recovered a shell casing, but no injured victims were found.
The motive for the shootings remains under investigation.
