Authorities in Elizabeth are investigating a shots-fired incident reported near a park early Friday morning.
Police responded to multiple rounds of gunfire in the vicinity of Jefferson Park shortly before 1:30 a.m., prompting units to the scene.
Upon arrival, police searched the area for victims, but no injuries were reported.
Witnesses say they heard about a half-dozen rounds and then observed an individual fleeing the scene.
No arrests have been reported.
