Police officials in Newark are investigating a shots-fired incident that had bullets enter an apartment of a building in the Lincoln Park section of the city Sunday.
According to preliminary reports, police responded to several phone calls reporting shots fired at a building located at 31-33 Lincoln Park at around 3 p.m.
When officers arrived, they checked an apartment and found several bullets entered and struck the ceiling of a residence that was occupied at the time by a male and a child.
Police set up a crime scene around the large multi-story building where they received reports of a maroon-colored car speeding away from the building immediately after residents heard gunfire.
There were no injuries reported.
