Shots Fired Incident Causes Injuries in South Toms River

South Toms River Police officials are investgiating a shots-fired incident that caused injuries on Sunday morning.

According to preliminary reports, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of 117 Charles Street at around 1:20 a.m.

Upon arrival, police found an unidentified victim in serious condition after suffering a gunshot wound in the side.

The victim was airlifted to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment and reportedly remained in stable condition.

Police say they are investigating if the incident is related to a fight that occurred on Ardmore Avenue where two additional shooting victims self-transported to another hospital Sunday morning.

Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office were called to the scene to investigate.

There were no arrests reported.
