Police in Newark are investigating a shots-fired incident in the city's West Ward overnight.
Officers responded to residents' complaints of gunfire near the intersection of 14th Avenue and South 17th Street around 10:40 p.m.
Upon arrival, police found evidence that a shooting had occurred, but no victims were located.
The suspect left the scene immediately after the shooting, according to reports.
The motive is under investigation.
