Police in Newark are investigating a shots-fired incident that erupted in the city's Central Ward on Monday morning.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired near the intersection of West Kinney and Quitman streets.
Upon arrival, police found multiple shell casings, but while searching the area, no victims were located.
The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.
Police checked hospitals in the region for potential walk-in gunshot victims.
