The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office was notified of a shooting in Passaic Thursday night.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of 10 Hope Avenue to investigate reports of shots fired.
Police arrived to the area and found two shell casings, but after officers canvased the scene, no victims were found.
Witnesses say a gunman fired shots at unknown targets before fleeing the scene.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
