At least two shell casings have been recovered from a shooting scene in a section of Newark's South Ward on Friday night.
According to police, the casings were recovered in the 200 block of Rose Street. There have been no reported injuries.
Residents called 911 to report the gunfire in the neighborhood at approximately 10 p.m. when they said they heard some verbal commotion then loud popping noises.
Police arrived in the area and conducted a canvass of the vicinity but not able to find a victim or suspect.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation.
