A late-night shooting in Newark's East Ward has police searching for a suspect responsible for the crime.
It happened around 11:17 p.m. in the area of Hawkins Street and Brinsmaid Place.
Gunfire rang out in the neighborhood, prompting police to the scene to investigate.
Upon officers' arrival, shell casings were found, but no victims were located after police canvased the area.
The suspect fled the scene and remained at large.
