Authorities in Newark are investigating an early morning shooting in the East Ward Saturday.
A crime scene unit was requested near 181 Vanderpool Street after police located multiple shell casings around 5:47 a.m.
Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the neighborhood and arrived to search the scene.
Officials alerted hospitals in the region to be on alert for potential gunshot victims, but no victims were found at the scene.
Police reported no arrests in the shooting and the suspect is at large.
