A ShotSpotter activation alerted police of multiple rounds of gunfire in an area of Newark on Wednesday night.
According to police, it happened at approximately 11:19 p.m., where suspects arrived on South 15th Street in Newark's South Ward and began to fire at unknown targets.
Police said when officers arrived, they found shell casings, but no injuries were immediately reported.
The motive for the shooting has not been determined.
