Severe Injuries Reported for Pedestrian Struck by Car on I-80 in Parsippany

The NJ State Police are investigating a pedestrian strike that seriously injured a man on a highway in Morris County on Friday morning.

According to a brief statement released by NJ State Police officials, police were called to the westbound lanes of I-80 near mile marker 42 in Parsippany to investigate reports of an injured person at approximately 3 a.m.

Units arrived at the scene found a male in the right lane suffering severe injuries after a vehicle struck him according to NJ State Police officials.

The victim was transported to Morristown Medical Center where officials could not immediately confirm the extent of the man's injuries State Police officials said.

As of 5:10 a.m., the three right lanes remained closed for the accident investigation.
