A crash that caused severe injuries in Irvington Township overnight has authorities investigating the official cause.
Information regarding the crash is continuing to develop, but according to preliminary reports, the explosive crash happened near the intersection of Lyons and Union avenues before 2:50 a.m. where two cars violently collided causing at least one person dead and at least one person injured at that location. The crash devastated both vehicles.
A third badly damaged vehicle was located at the intersection of Quabeck and Union avenues where police taped off the area around the car for the investigation.
Officers from the Union and Irvington Police departments were on the scene conducting the investigation.
Sources are reporting that this crash was a result of a police pursuit from the Union Township Police Department.
Crime scene detectives are on the scene investigating.
