Severe Injuries Reported in Car Fire Following Crash on NJ Turnpike in East Rutherford

A devastating Sunday morning car fire on the NJ Turnpike in East Rutherford has led to severe injuries, prompting an investigation by NJ State Police officials.AdThe incident occurred just before 4 a.m. on the western spur near exit 16W.

Troopers rushed to the scene after reports of a vehicle engulfed in flames.

Upon arrival, they discovered at least one person trapped inside the burning vehicle. The fire is believed to have resulted from a crash on the highway, although the specifics of the collision are still under review.

Due to the incident, police temporarily closed several lanes of the roadway to facilitate the investigation and ensure safety.

The cause of the crash and subsequent fire has not yet been determined.
