Severe I-280 Crash in Harrison Leaves Multiple Injured, One Critically Hurt

New Jersey State Police have launched an investigation into a serious early-morning crash on Interstate 280 in Harrison that left multiple people injured, including one person suffering severe injuries.

The crash occurred in the westbound lanes near Exit 14 shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday.

 

Preliminary reports indicated that emergency crews arriving at the scene encountered multiple injured occupants and at least one person trapped inside a vehicle.

 

One severely injured victim was transported to University Hospital in Newark for treatment.

 

The crash prompted authorities to close the right lane and right shoulder of I-280 westbound while emergency crews worked at the scene and investigators conducted their preliminary investigation.

 

New Jersey State Police are leading the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
