Several Vehicles Damaged in Newark Police Pursuit

There were non-life threatening injuries reported for several victims who were involved in a crash that resulted from a police pursuit in Newark overnight.

According to preliminary reports, police began chasing a stolen Lincoln MKZ where the driver reportedly committed an aggravated assault on a police officer in the city's East Ward.

Police followed the car through several neighborhoods before the suspects crashed into about a half dozen vehicles in the vicinity of Chadwick Avenue and West Runyon Street at around 12:45 a.m.

With the stolen vehicle on fire, police say several men jumped from the car and ran an in an unknown direction.

Three victims were transported to the hospital and are expected to be ok.

The suspects reportedly remain at-large.
