Just under a half dozen, people were transported to the hospital suffering severe injuries after a crash that occurred on an East Rutherford street early Saturday morning.
According to preliminary reports, it happened in the 100 block of Paterson Avenue just before 3:45 a.m. where emergency responders rushed to the scene after police reported a crash with injuries.
What exactly occurred during the incident is under investigation by police, but according to reports, the incident is being reported as an attempted traffic stop where the driver of the car sped away from police resulting in the collision.
There were no injuries to police officers reported.
