Authorities in Middlesex County are investigating the cause of a crash that injured several victims on a road in Old Bridge Wednesday morning.
Emergency repsonders rushed to the vicinity of US-9 and Spring Valley Road to investigate reports of a crash with injuries shortly before 2:20 a.m.
When firefighters arrived, they found the crash scene with one of the cars ignited in flames at that location.
About five individuals were transported to the hospital, experiencing various injuries, with three suffering critical burns.
There were no immediate reports of fatalities and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
The Old Bridge Police Department will handle the investigation.
