Several Hospitalized After Car Crashes Into NJ Transit Bus in East Orange

A busy portion of Clinton Street in East Orange was closed off Thursday afternoon when a vehicle collided with an NJ TRANSIT bus, leaving several passengers injured and prompting a police investigation.
 

According to NJ Transit officials, the crash happened at approximately 4:47 p.m. as a vehicle struck a No. 94 line bus that was heading toward Freeway Drive in Union.
 

The impact caused a scare for riders, with 16 customers on board at the time of the collision.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene, and nine passengers were transported to area hospitals for treatment of what authorities described as minor injuries.
 

The East Orange Police Department is leading the investigation, with support from NJ TRANSIT Police.
