New Jersey State Police are investigating the cause of an overnight crash that sent several people to the hospital after a vehicle went off the roadway along Interstate 280.
According to preliminary information, the crash occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. Friday near milepost 10.8 in West Orange.
When troopers and firefighters arrived, they found a badly damaged vehicle that had apparently lost control and crashed over a guardrail into a wooded area.
Officials said the car appeared to be the only vehicle involved in the wreck.
At least three occupants were transported to University Hospital in Newark with non-fatal injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under active investigation by the New Jersey State Police.
