Several Essex, Hudson, Passaic Towns Affected by Nutley Water Main Break

Newark

The North Jersey District Water Supply Commission has alerted multiple Passaic, Hudson and Essex County towns of a water main break that could affect their jurisdictions.

According to NJWSC, work crews detected the break in a 74” water main near the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue and Church Street before 9 p.m.

This aqueduct provides some water to several towns, including parts of Newark's East and South wards.

Glen Ridge officials advised residents that several may experience low water pressure or no water due to this incident. However, town officials said updates regarding repairs will be announced.

According to  NJWSC, at 10:00 p.m. Thursday,  water was shut down to repair the aqueduct.

Officials have not announced an estimated time for completion of the repair.
