Several Apartments Evacuated After Carbon Monoxide Leak at Summit Complex

Eight apartment units were evacuated Tuesday night after elevated levels of carbon monoxide were detected at a residential complex in Summit, authorities said.

 

Emergency crews responded to the apartment complex at 777 Springfield Avenue, where firefighters investigated a reported carbon monoxide incident.

 

According to preliminary information, firefighters detected carbon monoxide readings of approximately 54 parts per million (ppm) inside the two-story garden-style apartment complex.
 

EMS personnel reported that eight apartment units were evacuated as firefighters worked to ventilate the building and ensure the area was safe.

 

No injuries were immediately reported. 

 

The incident remains under investigation.
