The crash was reported at 2:08 am on I-95 NB at MP 7.5 in Lawrence Twp.
Police said a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling in the center lane and slowed down due to a Nissan Sentra disabled between the center and left lane.
A Nissan Altima was traveling behind the Volkswagen and struck it the rear according to police.
The Altima then struck the disabled Sentra and the driver of the Sentra, who was out of the vehicle. The male pedestrian suffered severe, life-threatening injuries and was transported to Helen Fuld in Trenton.
There were no injuries to the drivers of the other vehicles.
Due to the condition of the pedestrian, waiting on next of kin notification.
