Authorities in Middlesex County have shut down a busy stretch of U.S. Route 9 in Old Bridge as they investigate a serious crash that left at least one person severely injured Friday afternoon.
The incident occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of U.S. 9 near Ernston Road.
Responding officers arrived on the scene and located a crash involving at least one individual who sustained severe injuries.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current condition has not yet been released.
Officials said the roadway remains closed while investigators process the scene.
Additional details about the circumstances of the crash have not been made available at this time.
The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office has been notified and is expected to release further information as the investigation continues.
