Emergency crews responded to the scene of a serious crash involving what dispatchers described as a race car equipped with a roll cage after the vehicle reportedly overturned and wrapped around a tree shortly after midnight in Washington Township, Burlington County.
Rescuers encountered at least one person who was heavily trapped inside the vehicle and had difficulty reaching the occupant because of the roll cage. The crash occurred in the area of 3066 Green Bank-Chatsworth Road.
Initial reports indicated that emergency medical personnel were unable to detect a pulse, and the incident was later upgraded as a possible fatal crash.
Authorities have not officially confirmed a fatality or released additional details.
