Separate Overnight Shootings Hospitalize Four in Jersey City

Police in Jersey City are investigating two separate shooting incidents that sent four victims to the hospital during the overnight hours. 

In the first shooting, police responded to reports of shots fired in the teens block of Lexington Avenue around 11:45 p.m. 

Units arrived and found a male suffering a gunshot wound in his side and a second male victim struck in his leg by bullets. 

Both individuals were transported to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment and are in stable condition. 

Police are also investigating an early morning shooting in the 50's block of Sip Avenue. 

According to authorities, at approximately 2:55 a.m., gunfire rang out in that section of the city, prompting a police investigation. 

Upon arrival, police found a gunshot victim suffering non-fatal injuries. 

While Jersey City officers investigated the scene, they were informed that a second victim entered the emergency room at Jersey City Medical Center suffering gunshot wounds. 

The motive for both shootings is under investigation and no arrests have been reported.
