Senior Woman Struck by Car in Newark's Ironbound Section

EMS transported a woman to the hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries after a car struck her in Newark's Ironbound section this morning -Tuesday-.

The incident happened at approximately 10:32 a.m. near the intersection of Ferry and Monroe streets where the unidentified woman in her late 70's was attempting to cross the street when a car struck her according to officials.

The woman suffered leg and facial injuries when emergency crews found her lying in the street.

The driver of the car stayed at the scene according to reports.
