The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office Arson Squad and the Montvale Police Department are investigating a fatal fire that occurred Sunday afternoon in Montvale, NJ.
According to fire officials, at approximately 12:57 p.m., a passerby reported a fire at 53 North Avenue
Fire departments from Montvale and surrounding towns immediately responded to the single-family residence officials said.
While extinguishing the blaze, firefighters discovered the body of a 77-year-old female who medics pronounced dead at the scene.
The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office’s Arson Squad is investigating the cause of the fire, and more information will be released at a later time officials said.
There were no other injuries reported.
