UPDATE: Second Driver Killed in Route 78 Bernards Crash Identified

The second driver who reportedly caused the chain-reaction crash on Route 78 has been identified.

According to authorities, Archibald McGlashan, 68, of Bethlehem, Pa. - driver of a Toyota Camry - was traveling west Tuesday morning when his vehicle crossed to the eastbound lanes.

McGlashan struck another Toyota Camry, driven by Summit police officer Matthew Tarentino, which then overturned and crashed into a Honda Accord, driven by Larry Staley, 54, of Easton, Pa.

Tarentino was pronounced dead at the scene, while McGlashan was taken Morristown Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

Staley was also transported to the hospital with what police described as non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
