School Bus Crash in Gloucester Sends 11 Students to Hospital

Gloucester Township New Jersey

The driver of a car along with eleven students inside a school bus were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries after a motor vehicle accident this morning in Gloucester.

Officers of the Gloucester Township Police Department were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash on Berlin-Cross Keys Road at Kearsley Road that involved a car and a school bus - owned by T&L Transportation - that was transporting students to a school.

Upon the officers arrival, all 39 students, who were being transported to the Camden County Technical School, had exited the bus along with the bus driver.

The driver of the other vehicle had also stepped away from their vehicle but was eventually transported to an area hospital for a complaint of neck pain.

The eleven students on the bus were also transported to area hospitals for complaints of neck and back pain.

All injuries were reported to be minor, police said.

Berlin-Cross Keys Road was closed for approximately 1 hour during the height of the rush hour traffic.

Due the the large number of injured, the Camden County BLS Strike Team was activated which resulted in additional ambulances responding to the scene to assist and transport the injured.

The initial investigation by the Gloucester Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau shows that the bus was making a left turn and sideswiped the passing motor vehicle.

No charges have yet been filed as the investigation into the crash is continuing.
