Samaritan Finds Toddler Left Behind During Daycare Field Trip in Newark

A good Samaritan is to thank after she found and kept a toddler safe after he was allegedly left behind during a day care field trip.

According to the Samaritan- later identified as Jennifer Ewens - she was at West Side Park in Newark when she found the boy crying in the park.

According to reports Ewens immediately called the police and waited there with the child until police arrived.

As Ewing and the child waited for police, someone from Kid’s First Adventure Day Care returned to the park and reportedly began to explain to Ewing how the center had the authorization to go to the park on that day according to reports.

The child was taken to the hospital for an evaluation and is expected to be ok.

The incident is under investigation by the Essex County Sheriff’s Department.
