Slade Gorton & Co., Inc. announced the voluntary recall of Lot 3896 of Wellsley Farms Farm-Raised Atlantic Salmon packaged in 2-pound bags.

The affected product was sold exclusively at BJ’s stores in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia between January 31 and February 7, 2026.

The salmon is packaged in 2-lb bags labeled “Wellsley Farms Farm-Raised Atlantic Salmon.” Consumers can identify the recalled product by checking the back of the bag for UPC code 888670025963 and lot number 3896, which appear beneath the cooking instructions and Nutrition Facts panel.

While healthy individuals may experience short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, Listeria monocytogenes infections can pose serious health risks for pregnant women, including miscarriages and stillbirths.

Health officials advise anyone experiencing symptoms consistent with Listeria infection to contact a medical provider.

No illnesses have been reported at this time.

The issue was discovered after a routine sample collected by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration tested positive for the bacteria. Slade Gorton & Co., Inc. stated that it is investigating how the contamination occurred and taking steps to prevent a similar incident in the future.
